Aqua - Megalomania (2011)

Megalomania is the third studio album by Danish-Norwegian pop band Aqua. The album was released physically from September 30, 2011 and digitally on October 3, 2011, more than 11 years after the release of their previous studio album, Aquarius (2000). Due to the change of musical style from their previous album, critical reviews were more mixed, and was not as commercially successful either, only peaking at number two in Denmark, and being certified gold by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).

"How R U Doin?" was released on March 14, 2011 as the lead single from the album. The song peaked at number four in Denmark, and it has since been certified gold by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) for sales of 15,000 copies in Denmark.[20]

During their 2011 tour the band confirmed that "Like a Robot" would be released as the album's second single in the beginning of July 2011, to coincide with the album release the same month.[21] However on September 8, 2011 it was announced that "Playmate to Jesus" and "Like a Robot" would be released as two separate singles, with "Like a Robot" being the club single and "Playmate to Jesus" serving as the radio single. Both songs were released on September 12, 2011. The official music video to "Playmate to Jesus" premiered on September 23, 2011. The song debuted at number twenty-six in Denmark. In its second week on the chart, "Playmate to Jesus" reached a peak position of number thirteen. The song has been certified gold in Denmark for being streamed 300,000 times.[22]

On November 5, 2011 producer Lucas Secon reported that "Like a Robot" would be released as the album's international lead single.

Aqua - Aquarius (1999)

Aquarius is the second studio album by Danish-Norwegian band Aqua. The album was released on 28 February 2000 by Universal.

The lead single, "Cartoon Heroes", peaked at number one in Denmark and Norway, reached number 7 in the UK in February 2000 and later received top 10 positions globally except for the U.S. where it failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. The second single, "Around the World", also peaked at number one in Denmark, but only made number 26 in UK and did not sell highly in most regions. It was the last release in most territories before the band split in 2001.

Scandinavia and other European countries saw further releases of "Bumble Bees" and "We Belong to the Sea" during late 2000, both achieving only moderate success.

Aqua - Aquarium (1997)

Aquarium is the debut studio album by Danish-Norwegian band Aqua. The album was released in Scandinavia on 26 March 1997 and in the United States on 9 September 1997. Although the group had been together for three years under their original name Joyspeed, their only release under that name was a single called "Itzy Bitsy Spider". The album is best known for including the successful singles "Barbie Girl", "Doctor Jones" and "Turn Back Time", the first of those being a huge hit across the globe. (The album was preceded by the two singles "Roses Are Red" and "My Oh My", with the latter re-released in 1998).

The album's third single, "Barbie Girl" brought the group to international attention after reaching number one in both Denmark and Norway, as well as across Europe and in Australia and New Zealand. It would later peak at number 7 in the US. Its success helped the album reach number one in both the group's home countries, and make the top 10 in the UK and US. While not selling as highly "Barbie Girl", the album's fourth single "Doctor Jones" was released in late 1997/early 1998 and became a number one in Denmark, Norway, Australia and the UK. "Turn Back Time" would later give the group their third consecutive number one single in the UK, despite only reaching number 16 in Denmark. The final single, "Good Morning Sunshine" failed to chart highly and was only released in select regions like the earlier "Lollipop (Candyman)", the group's only other song to chart in the US. The album has sold 14 million copies worldwide.

Taylor Swift - Taylor Swift (2006)

Taylor Swift is the self-titled debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, released on October 24, 2006, by Big Machine Records. Swift was 16 years old the year of the album's release and wrote its songs during her freshman year of high school. Swift has writing credits on all of the album's songs, including those co-written with Liz Rose. Swift experimented with several producers, ultimately choosing Nathan Chapman, who had produced her demo album. Taylor Swift is a country album, with some tracks having pop and pop-rock sensibilities. Lyrically, the album speaks of romantic relationships, a couple of which Swift wrote from observing them before being in one. It also touches on Swift's friends and her personal struggles in high school.

Five singles were released from Taylor Swift, all of which reached the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has been certified platinum or multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)—Swift's debut single and the album's lead single, "Tim McGraw", peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. "Teardrops on My Guitar" was the album's best-performing song on the Hot 100, spending 48 weeks on the chart and becoming Swift's first top-20 hit. "Our Song" made Swift the youngest person in history to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Hot Country Songs chart; "Picture to Burn" peaked at number three on the chart, while "Should've Said No" became the second chart-topper from the album. Swift promoted the album by performing as the opening act, for the tours by artists such as Rascal Flatts, George Strait, Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill.

Upon release, Taylor Swift received generally positive reviews from music critics, who praised Swift's talent at such a young age. The album enjoyed commercial success and launched Swift's career in country music. In the United States, it topped the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart for 24 weeks and was certified 7× Platinum by the RIAA for sales of over seven million copies in the US. Taylor Swift is the longest-charting album of the 2000s decade on the Billboard 200, charting for 275 weeks in total. The album was also certified gold in the United Kingdom, platinum in Australia, and 2× platinum in Canada.

Taylor Swift - Folklore (2020)

Folklore (stylized in all lowercase) is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on July 24, 2020, through Republic Records, eleven months after Swift's seventh studio album, Lover (2019). The album was created in isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, with production from Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff and Swift herself. It is a surprise album, announced on social media hours before its release. Departing from the mainstream pop sound of Swift's previous releases, Folklore is an indie folk, alternative rock, electro-folk and chamber pop album driven by pianos and guitars. Lyrically, it incorporates vivid storytelling that details third-person narratives.

"Cardigan" was released as the first single along with the album. Folklore received widespread critical acclaim upon release and was named by many as the best album in Swift's discography, with praise directed towards the album's relaxed and unconventional sound, and the fictional lyrical themes.

M2M - The Best Of M2M (2003)

The Day You Went Away: The Best of M2M is the last album and greatest hits compilation by Norwegian teen-pop duo M2M. It was released in 2003 after M2M disbanded in 2002.

The compilation includes all of their singles from their two studio albums Shades of Purple and The Big Room, as well as acoustic versions of some other songs. It also contains a Mandarin Chinese version of their hit "Pretty Boy" and a Spanish version of "Everything You Do". "Everything" is also shortened without the faded out ending and "Everything You Do" was completely re-recorded with new vocals. It also has three new songs, "Not to Me", "Is You", and "Wait for Me". A second disc is included with the album, which contains music videos and a featurette, as well as footage girls in Bangkok and Norway.

Marisa Brown from AllMusic gave the album four out of five stars, concluding "It's way more M2M than is necessary, but it certainly does the job of giving the best of them." The liner notes include lyrics to the songs; however, there is a mistake in the lyrics for "Don't Say You Love Me", as the notes contain the lyrics from the version of the song that appeared on Pokรฉmon: The First Movie, whereas the album includes the version that appeared on Shades of Purple.

The Big Room is the second and final studio album by Norwegian pop music duo M2M. It was released in Asia in November 2001 and in the rest of the world in early 2002. A further two promotional singles, Don't and Wanna Be Where You Are, were released in the US and Philippines only respectively. Despite critical acclaim, sales were disappointing in comparison to their previous album, Shades of Purple. Facing mounting pressure from their record company, M2M disbanded in late 2002.

Everything was the first single from the album. It was released in Asia in October 2001 and the US on 26 February 2002. It reached No. 6 in Norway, No. 27 in Australia and No. 44 in New Zealand. The music video was directed by Chris Applebaum. The second single was What You Do About Me. It reached No. 46 in Australia. Lindsay Lohan - A Little More Personal (Raw) (2005)

A Little More Personal (Raw) is the second studio album by American singer and actress Lindsay Lohan, released on December 5, 2005 by Casablanca Records. Initially titled There's Only One Angel In Heaven, the album, produced by Kara DioGuardi, Greg Wells, Ben Moody and Butch Walker, features darker material than Lohan's previous album, Speak (2004). Recording sessions took place in several locations, including at Lohan's trailer during the shoot of Herbie: Fully Loaded, where she recorded the first and only single of the album, "Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)".

A Little More Personal (Raw) received mixed reviews from music critics, who praised Lohan's ambition, despite considering it a weak album. The album charted mildly compared to Speak, debuting (and also peaking) at number twenty on United States' Billboard 200 with first week sales of 82,000 copies,[1] and also peaking at the same position on the Digital Albums chart. However, A Little More Personal (Raw) was certified Gold in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 500,000 copies.[2] It was also certified Gold in Taiwan.[3] Lohan promoted the album with a few television appearances, including at MTV's Total Request Live, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and the 2005 American Music Awards.

Lindsay Lohan - Speak (2004)

Speak is the debut studio album by American actress and singer-songwriter Lindsay Lohan. It was released in the United States on December 7, 2004 by Casablanca Records. The album was the first high-seller from Casablanca Records in several years, selling 1,000,000 units in the United States.

The album received mainly negative reviews, with critics commenting that Lohan "isn't a bad singer, but not an extraordinary singer either." In the United States the album peaked at number four on the Billboard 200, selling 261,762 copies in its first week. In Germany the album debuted at the #53 position and took four weeks to complete its chart run.

The first two singles from Speak, "Rumors" and "Over", were both successes, with "Over" topping the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles where it stayed for three weeks. The song also did well internationally in countries such as Australia, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. "Rumors" peaked at #6 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart and also did well in Australia and Germany, where it reached #14. The music video for "Rumors" was nominated for "Best Pop Video" at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards. Both songs received heavy airplay on MTV's Total Request Live. The final single, "First", was released to help promote Lohan's film, Herbie: Fully Loaded. The song earned small success in Australia and Germany. Lohan promoted the album by performing the songs in a number of live appearances. Plans for a tour in Taiwan were planned, but were later scrapped.

Lady Gaga - Chromatica (2020)

Chromatica is the sixth studio album by American singer Lady Gaga. It was released on May 29, 2020, by Streamline and Interscope Records. Originally scheduled for April 10, 2020, the album's release was delayed for several weeks, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Chromatica serves as a follow-up to Gaga's fifth studio album, Joanne (2016).

The singer intended the album to be a reminder of her "absolute love for electronic music", and features production from various producers, such as BloodPop, BURNS, Axwell and Tchami. Themes of the album revolve around mental health, healing, and finding happiness through hardship.[1] It also includes collaborations with Ariana Grande, Blackpink and Elton John.

"Stupid Love" was released as the album's lead single on February 28, 2020, and reached number five in both the United Kingdom and United States. "Rain on Me" was released as the second single on May 22, 2020. "Sour Candy" was released as a promotional single on May 28, 2020.
