Taylor Swift - Taylor Swift (2006)

Taylor Swift is the self-titled debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, released on October 24, 2006, by Big Machine Records. Swift was 16 years old the year of the album's release and wrote its songs during her freshman year of high school. Swift has writing credits on all of the album's songs, including those co-written with Liz Rose. Swift experimented with several producers, ultimately choosing Nathan Chapman, who had produced her demo album. Taylor Swift is a country album, with some tracks having pop and pop-rock sensibilities. Lyrically, the album speaks of romantic relationships, a couple of which Swift wrote from observing them before being in one. It also touches on Swift's friends and her personal struggles in high school.

Five singles were released from Taylor Swift, all of which reached the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has been certified platinum or multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)—Swift's debut single and the album's lead single, "Tim McGraw", peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. "Teardrops on My Guitar" was the album's best-performing song on the Hot 100, spending 48 weeks on the chart and becoming Swift's first top-20 hit. "Our Song" made Swift the youngest person in history to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Hot Country Songs chart; "Picture to Burn" peaked at number three on the chart, while "Should've Said No" became the second chart-topper from the album. Swift promoted the album by performing as the opening act, for the tours by artists such as Rascal Flatts, George Strait, Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill.

Upon release, Taylor Swift received generally positive reviews from music critics, who praised Swift's talent at such a young age. The album enjoyed commercial success and launched Swift's career in country music. In the United States, it topped the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart for 24 weeks and was certified 7× Platinum by the RIAA for sales of over seven million copies in the US. Taylor Swift is the longest-charting album of the 2000s decade on the Billboard 200, charting for 275 weeks in total. The album was also certified gold in the United Kingdom, platinum in Australia, and 2× platinum in Canada.

Taylor Swift - Folklore (2020)

Folklore (stylized in all lowercase) is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on July 24, 2020, through Republic Records, eleven months after Swift's seventh studio album, Lover (2019). The album was created in isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, with production from Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff and Swift herself. It is a surprise album, announced on social media hours before its release. Departing from the mainstream pop sound of Swift's previous releases, Folklore is an indie folk, alternative rock, electro-folk and chamber pop album driven by pianos and guitars. Lyrically, it incorporates vivid storytelling that details third-person narratives.

"Cardigan" was released as the first single along with the album. Folklore received widespread critical acclaim upon release and was named by many as the best album in Swift's discography, with praise directed towards the album's relaxed and unconventional sound, and the fictional lyrical themes.

Taylor Swift - 1989 (Deluxe) (2014)

1989 is the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on October 27, 2014, through Big Machine Records. Swift began preparing for the album during the same year which Red was released, and during a significant amount of media scrutiny. Over the course of the two-year songwriting period, she primarily collaborated with producers Max Martin and Shellback—Martin served as the album's executive producer alongside Swift. Named after Swift's birth year, the album's title was inspired by the pop music scene of the 1980s.

Seven singles have been released from the set: "Shake It Off", "Blank Space", and "Bad Blood" all reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, while "Style" peaked at number six, "Wildest Dreams" at number five, and "Out of the Woods" peaking at number 18 in 2014. The first five singles have all reached number one on the Adult Top 40 and Mainstream Top 40 and all have received a multi-platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Taylor Swift - Red (Deluxe) (2012)

Red is the fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on October 22, 2012, by Big Machine Records, as the follow-up to her third studio album, Speak Now. The album title was inspired by the "semi-toxic relationships" that Swift experienced during the process of conceiving this album, which Swift described the emotions she felt as "red emotions" due to their intense and tumultuous nature. Red touches on Swift's signature themes of love and heartbreak, however, from a more mature perspective while exploring other themes such as fame and the pressure of being in the limelight. The album features collaborations with producers and guest artists such as Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol and Ed Sheeran and is noted for Swift's experimentation with new musical genres. Swift completed The Red Tour in support of the album on June 12, 2014, which became the highest-grossing tour of all time by a country artist, grossing over $150 million.

Worldwide, Red has sold 6 million copies as of August 2014. It was Swift's third consecutive top-seller and the second best-seller overall across all genres despite being out only for two months. This makes the fourth time Swift has an album ranked in the year's top three sellers. Red has been certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), making it Swift's fourth consecutive album to reach this plateau.

Taylor Swift - Fearless (Japan) (2008)

Fearless is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. The album was released on November 11, 2008, by Big Machine Records. As with her debut, Swift wrote or co-wrote all thirteen tracks on Fearless. Most of the songs were written as the singer promoted her debut album as opening act for numerous country artists. Due to the unavailability of collaborators on the road, eight songs were self-penned by Swift. Other songs were co-written with Liz Rose, Hillary Lindsey, Colbie Caillat, and John Rich. Swift also made her debut as a record producer, co-producing all songs on the album with Nathan Chapman.

Five singles were released from Fearless. The first single, "Love Story", is her best-selling song to date, selling more than 8 million copies worldwide (according to the IFPI).[citation needed] It was a crossover hit that became one of the best-selling singles of all time internationally and was once the best-selling country song of all time. The succeeding single, "White Horse", also performed well in the US. "You Belong with Me" was an international success, becoming Swift's second best-selling single and her highest position on the US Billboard Hot 100 at the time. "Fifteen" and "Fearless" followed with both achieving a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
