Ciara - Ciara: The Evolution (2006)

      Ciara: The Evolution (simply known as The Evolution[2][3]) is the second studio album by American recording artist Ciara, released on December 5, 2006, by LaFace Records. The album is separated into five sections, with each showcasing a different side of Ciara's artistry. The first features crunk&B and uptempo records, which mainly deal with feminine independence, while its successor, entitled The Evolution of Music features ballads dealing with the positives and struggles of love. The Evolution of Dance features dance tracks, The Evolution of Fashion deals with self-expression, while the last, entitled The Evolution of C, features tracks that discuss how Ciara has evolved as a person since the start of her career.

      The album was seen as a coming of age project for the singer, as it featured songs with more substance than her last effort. It deals with Ciara's experiences after being in the public eye for the two years prior to the album's release. The tracks are also said to be geared toward a more urban audience. Ciara was the executive producer of the album and enlisted production from Phillana Williams, Antwoine Collins, Brian Kennedy, Bryan-Michael Cox, Calvo Da Gr8, Dallas Austin, Jazze Pha, Kendrick Dean, Lil Jon, Mr. Collipark, The Neptunes, Polow da Don, Rodney Jerkins, The Clutch, will.i.am, among others, and featured guest appearances from 50 Cent and Chamillionaire. Ciara also co-wrote and co-produces most of the songs.

      The album received mixed to positive reviews from most music critics. Generally, critics praised Ciara's increased vocal ability and the album's lyricism, but criticised its frequent interludes and the latter half of the album. The Evolution became Ciara's first and only number-one album in the US, selling 338,000 copies in its first week. It was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) within five weeks of its release and has sold 1.3 million copies in the US. It also achieved moderate success in international markets, reaching the top forty in most of the countries it was released in.

      The Evolution spawned four commercial singles, including "Get Up", which reached the top ten in the United States and New Zealand. The next single, "Promise", reached number-one on US R&B charts and number eleven on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first top twenty without a featured act. The third single, "Like a Boy", peaked within top twenty in most of the countries it was released in, including the US. The final single, "Can't Leave 'em Alone",

Ciara - Goodies (2004)

      Goodies is the debut studio album by American recording artist Ciara. It was released on September 28, 2004 via LaFace Records. After writing songs for several established acts, Ciara's talents were noticed by Jazze Pha, and she began to work on what became Goodies. The album's conception came through the which the title track, created as a female crunk counterpart to Usher's "Yeah" and Petey Pablo's "Freek-a-Leek." Ciara worked with several writers and producers on the album, including Jazze Pha, Lil Jon, Bangladesh, R. Kelly, Johntá Austin, Sean Garrett, and Keri Hilson, among others.

      With Goodies, Ciara was hailed as the "Princess" or "First Lady of Crunk&B." The album uses dance music while utilizing pop, R&B, and hip-hop influences. The album delivers contradictory lyrical content, featuring female empowerment and independence-promoting lyrics in songs like the title track, while others show interest in adult activities. Critics gave the album positive to mixed reviews, commending the "Goodies"-esque songs, while deeming others as unoriginal and noting Ciara's limited vocal abilities. Most critics compared the work to singer Aaliyah, and also said it had qualities of Destiny's Child.

      Commercially the album was a success, in the United States, the album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, selling 124,750 copies in its opening week. It was later certified triple platinum by the RIAA, and as of June 2010, had sold over 2.7 million copies in the United States. The album also fared well internationally being certified Platinum by the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) and Silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Goodies earned Ciara two Grammy nominations at the 48th Grammy Awards including Best New Artist and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "1, 2 Step."

Cassie - Cassie (2006)

      Cassie is the self-titled debut album by American singer Cassie, released on August 8, 2006, by Bad Boy Records, NextSelection Lifestyle Group, and Atlantic Records. Cassie was discovered by record producer Ryan Leslie, who helped her record demo tapes. After Cassie was signed by Diddy, the founder of Bad Boy Records, she continued to work with Leslie who produced the entire album. Musically, Cassie is mainly a R&B, hip hop and pop album with urban, pop rock and contemporary R&B styles, containing "looming synthesizer patterns" and "ice-cream-truck melod[ies] to give it a slightly twisted and threatening edge," as well as "flippant playfulness."

The album was well-received critically and praised for its production. In addition to being called "confection," it drew comparisons to Janet Jackson. It debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 100,374 copies, staying on the chart for thirteen weeks. As of January 2010, the album had sold 650,000 copies worldwide. Cassie received a vinyl reissue nine years after its original release, reasserting its cult following and influence in certain circles according to music critics.

"Me & U" was released as the lead single from the album on May 16, 2006. It peaked at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 and hit the top twenty in ten other countries. "Long Way 2 Go" was released as the second and final single from the album on September 2006. It did not perform as well as "Me & U" in the United States, only reaching number ninety-seven on the Hot 100, having achieved more success internationally, charting within the top forty of various countries, including number twelve in the United Kingdom.

      Motion is the fourth studio album by Scottish DJ and record producer Calvin Harris, released on 31 October 2014 by Fly Eye Records and Columbia Records. The album includes collaborations with vocalists Ellie Goulding, Gwen Stefani, John Newman and Tinashe; rapper Big Sean; DJs Alesso, R3hab, Ummet Ozcan and Firebeatz; and the groups Hurts, Haim and All About She.

      The album received mixed responses from critics. Motion debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, with 37,325 copies sold in its first week. It debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 in the United States, and became Harris's second consecutive number-one album on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The album's first three singles—"Under Control", "Summer" and "Blame"—all topped the UK Singles Chart. Other singles released from the album include "Outside", "Open Wide" and "Pray to God".

Calvin Harris - 18 Months (2012)

      18 Months is the third studio album by Scottish DJ and record producer Calvin Harris, released on 26 October 2012 by Columbia Records, Deconstruction Records and Fly Eye Records. The album includes the singles "Bounce", "Feel So Close", "Let's Go", "We'll Be Coming Back", "Sweet Nothing", "Drinking from the Bottle", "I Need Your Love" and "Thinking About You". All eight of the aforementioned singles, along with "We Found Love" (featuring Rihanna), reached number 10 on the UK Singles Chart, making 18 Months the first album in history to spawn nine top 10 singles. It is Harris's first studio album where he does not regularly provide the vocals on each song, but instead producing the music and having guest singers sing for him (save for "Feel So Close" and "Iron" with Dutch DJ Nicky Romero), as Harris stated in November 2010 he would not be singing on his songs any more.

      18 Months debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, earning Harris his second consecutive number one album in the United Kingdom. The album had sold over 815,636 copies in the UK as of November 2014. It has also sold more than 25 million singles worldwide. "Let's Go" and "Sweet Nothing" were nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 55th Grammy Awards and 56th Grammy Awards, respectively.       Ready for the Weekend is the second studio album by Scottish recording artist Calvin Harris, released on 14 August 2009 by Columbia Records. The album debuted atop the UK Albums Chart and was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). It spawned the singles "I'm Not Alone", "Ready for the Weekend", "Flashback" and "You Used to Hold Me".
      "I'm Not Alone" was released as the album's lead single on 6 April 2009. The song debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart, knocking off Lady Gaga's "Poker Face".[15] It spent two weeks atop the chart, before dropping to number three in its third week.[16] "Ready for the Weekend" was released as the album's second single on 9 August 2009. The song peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart.[17]

      "Flashback" was released as the third single from the album on 2 November 2009. The track reached number 18 on the UK Singles Chart.[17] The album's fourth and final single, "You Used to Hold Me", was released on 8 February 2010, peaking at number 27 on the UK chart.[17] An extended version of Harris's 2008 chart-topping collaboration with Dizzee Rascal, "Dance wiv Me", is also included on the album.

Unorthodox Jukebox is the second studio album by American recording artist Bruno Mars. It was released by Atlantic Records on December 7, 2012, as the follow-up to Mars' 2010 debut studio album Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The album was initially planned to be more "energetic" than his previous material; Unorthodox Jukebox ultimately presented a wide range of styles, such as reggae rock, disco and soul music. The singer co-wrote the whole album and worked with several past collaborators, while enlisting new producers and guest vocals. Much of Unorthodox Jukebox revolves around the theme of relationships, with more explicit lyrics and subjects than his previous material. Critical response to Unorthodox Jukebox was generally favorable; many reviewers compared the work to that of his previous album, while others deemed the lyrical content as shallow and lacking of depth.

The release of the album was preceded by the release of one single. "Locked Out of Heaven" was released on October 1, 2012 as the album's lead single. It became a commercial success on music charts all over the world and topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for six consecutive weeks. In between the release of the lead single and the album were the releases of promotional singles "Young Girls" on November 6, "Moonshine" on November 19 and "When I Was Your Man" on December 4, 2012. The latter was released as the album's second single, one month and half later, on January 15, 2013 and became Mars' fourth single to top the US Billboard Hot 100 and experienced similar mainstream success as the lead. "Treasure" debuted on May 10, 2013, as the album's third single and was a moderate commercial success, peaking at number 5 on the US chart. "Gorilla" and "Young Girls" were the fourth and fifth singles, respectively. Unorthodox Jukebox was further promoted through the Moonshine Jungle Tour.

Doo-Wops & Hooligans is the debut studio album by American singer Bruno Mars. It was released on October 4, 2010, by Atlantic Records and Elektra Records. Mars' writing and production team The Smeezingtons were credited with writing all songs and serve as the album's executive producers. The album's title refers to doo-wop music and was chosen to reflect simplicity, as well as appeal to both males and females. Two digital singles—"Liquor Store Blues" featuring Damian Marley and "Grenade"—were released to promote the album.

The lead single "Just the Way You Are" was released on July 20, 2010, and topped the Billboard Hot 100 for four consecutive weeks, going on to become an international top ten hit. ABBA - The Visitors (1981) (Deluxe)

      The Visitors is the eighth and final studio album by Swedish pop group ABBA, released on 30 November 1981.

      With The Visitors, ABBA took several steps away from the "lighter" pop music they had recorded previously and the album is often regarded as a more complex and mature effort.[3] The opening track, "The Visitors", with its ominous synthesizer sounds and the distinctive lead vocal by Frida, announced a change in musical style. With Benny and Frida going their separate ways, the pain of splitting up was explored yet again in "When All Is Said and Done". The major hit single on the album, "One of Us" also depicted the end of a love story. Elsewhere there were current Cold War themes—highly topical at the time—and further songs of isolation and regret.

      The Visitors album was one of the first records ever to be recorded and mixed digitally, and was the first in history to be released on the new CD format in 1982 on Atlantic.[4] The Visitors has been reissued in digitally remastered form three times—first in 1996, then in 2001 and again in 2005 as part of The Complete Studio Recordings box set.

      The Visitors Deluxe Edition was released on 23 April 2012. As with previous releases in the Deluxe Edition series, this version of ABBA’s final album offers a DVD of archive material along with CD bonus tracks – including the demo medley "From a Twinkling Star to a Passing Angel", the first previously-unreleased ABBA recordings since 1994

      Super Trouper is the seventh studio album by Swedish pop group ABBA, first released in 1980. It features the No.1 singles "The Winner Takes It All" and "Super Trouper". The album became the biggest-selling of 1980 in the UK.

      Led by the international hit "The Winner Takes It All", Super Trouper was the group's sixth chart-topping album in the UK. It was also the best-selling album in Britain for 1980. Super Trouper was first released on CD in 1983 by Atlantic Records, again in the 1980s by Polar International, and in the 1990s by Polydor in the US. The album has been reissued in digitally remastered form four times; first in 1996, then in 2001, again in 2005 as part of the The Complete Studio Recordings box set and as a Deluxe Edition (containing a bonus DVD) in 2011. The previous year's divorce between Björn and Agnetha was explored in "The Winner Takes It All", and the members' lives in Stockholm high society circles coloured the lyrics for "On and On and On". Other well-known songs on the album include the hit single title track "Super Trouper", as well as the electro-dance of "Lay All Your Love on Me".

      Probably due to the disco backlash of the time, the album saw ABBA returning to a more straightforward pop sound, as opposed to the preceding (and noticeably more dance-oriented) Voulez-Vous album. The album closed with "The Way Old Friends Do", which was recorded live a year earlier during their 1979 concert tour. Although not released as a single with this album, the song was later released as a single in 1992 to promote the compilation More ABBA Gold: More ABBA Hits. The song was later covered by The Alexander Brothers, The Kingston Trio, Philomena Begley and Faryl Smith.

      Voulez-Vous is the sixth studio album by Swedish group ABBA, released in 1979.       ABBA: The Album is the fifth studio album by the Swedish pop group ABBA. It was released in Scandinavia on 12 December 1977 through Polar Music, but due to the massive pre-orders the UK pressing plants were not able to press sufficient copies before Christmas 1977 and so it was not released in the UK until January 1978. The album was released in conjunction with ABBA: The Movie, with several of the songs featured in the film.

      The album contained two UK number-one singles, "Take a Chance on Me" and "The Name of the Game", as well as European hits "Eagle" and "Thank You for the Music".ABBA: The Album was first released on CD in 1984. Arrival is the fourth studio album by the Swedish pop group ABBA. It was originally released in Sweden on 11 October 1976 by Polar Records. Recording sessions began in August 1975 and continued until September 1976 at Metronome and Glen studios in Stockholm, Sweden. It became one of ABBA's most successful albums to date, producing three of their biggest hits: "Dancing Queen", "Money, Money, Money" and "Knowing Me, Knowing You". Upon its original 1976 release, "Fernando", released as a single earlier the same year, did not appear on Arrival, but it was included on the Australian and New Zealand versions. Arrival was the best-selling album of 1977 in the United Kingdom and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The album was first released on Compact disc in 1984 and then re-issued in digitally remastered form a total of four times; first in 1997, then in 2001, 2005 as part of The Complete Studio Recordings box set, and again in 2006 (as a special Deluxe Edition).

ABBA - ABBA (1975) (Remastered 2005)

ABBA is the eponymously titled third (second internationally) studio album by the Swedish pop group of the same name. It was originally released on 21 April 1975 through Polar Music and featured the hits "Mamma Mia" and "SOS".

ABBA was first released on CD in Japan in 1986, with an alternative mix of "Man in the Middle" not found on any subsequent CD pressing.[2] " ABBA was then released on CD in West Germany in 1987 (later released internationally), with five bonus tracks of songs from Waterloo and Ring Ring, which had not been released on CD at that time. ABBA was released on CD in Sweden in 1988 featuring the original 11 tracks only. The album has been reissued in digitally remastered form several times; first in 1997, then in 2001 and again in 2005 as part of The Complete Studio Recordings box set. In 2012, it was released as a deluxe edition CD / DVD set. On the original UK cassette release of the album "Bang a Boomerang" was split in two parts, being faded during the second verse at the end of side one and continued at the beginning of side two.
