Cherish - Unappreciated (2006)

Unappreciated is the debut album by the American R&B-soul girl group Cherish. The album was co-produced by Jermaine Dupri, along with the group. The sisters confirmed that they co-wrote every song on the album, along with Dupri. Released on August 15, 2006, the album was met with a positive critical and commercial reception. In the United States, the album debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200, selling an estimated 91,000 copies in its first week of release. On September 21 of the same year, the album was certified Gold by the RIAA, for shipments of 500,000 copies. The album was also somewhat successful in Japan, debuting and peaking at number 20 on the album's chart. In the United Kingdom, the album debuted at number 80, and to date has sold only 30,000 copies there.

The album spawned two official singles. The first of these, titled "Do It to It", featured rapper Sean P on guest vocals. The single became the group's first hit on the Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked inside the top 20, bowing at number 12. The single also reached the top 10 of the Pop 100 and Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs charts, peaking at 9 and 10 respectively. Outside the US, the single was just as successful. In New Zealand, the single peaked at number 3. It also peaked at number 10 in Japan, becoming their first top 10 hit there. The single was also a success in countries like Ireland and the United Kingdom, peaking inside of the top 40 in those countries. The second official single was "Unappreciated", which is also the album's title track. The ballad was met with far less commercial success than its predecessor. Distributed by Koch Records and Sony Music, the album marked Norwood's debut on the Epic Records label, following her split with Atlantic Records in 2005, and her reunion with long-time contributor and mentor Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, who wrote and executive produced most of the album with his songwriting collective.

In mid-2009 during the recording sessions for Norwood's second album with Epic Records, Brandy ended her management contract with Roc Nation. This was followed by the termination of her contract with Epic, after singer-songwriter Amanda Ghost was appointed the new president of the label. Brandy - Afrodisiac (2004)

Afrodisiac is the fourth studio album by American recording artist Brandy, released on June 28, 2004 by Atlantic Records. The album was recorded primarily in Los Angeles between spring 2003 and early 2004, following several major changes in Brandy's personal and professional life. After giving birth to her daughter and the demise of her relationship with the father, Brandy's team was given an overhaul, including changes in production, management, and A&R. The album marked a departure from her previous work, with Brandy collaborating with producer Timbaland and songwriter Candice Nelson, on the majority of the album's composition.

Upon release, the critical response to Afrodisiac was highly positive, eventually garnering critical acclaim for its mature lyrics, Brandy's vocalizing, and its overall experimental sound.[1] The album has been named as one of a predecessors to PBR&B and alternative R&B, having been cited to influence artists, such as Rihanna and Solange. Afrodisiac was nominated for several awards including nominations at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards and the 47th Annual Grammy Awards.[2] The album debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200, eventually earning a gold certification by the RIAA.[3] Internationally, Afrodisiac scored minor success, appearing on the top 40 album charts in the UK, Canada, and Japan. Brandy - Full Moon (2002)

Full Moon is the third studio album by American singer Brandy. It was released by Atlantic Records on February 19, 2002. The album was recorded primarily during the summer and fall of 2001 at The Hit Factory in Miami, amid a three-year musical hiatus following the success of her multi-platinum previous studio album Never Say Never (1998) and the finale of her highly successful television sitcom Moesha in May 2001. As with Never Say Never, Brandy collaborated with producer Rodney Jerkins and his Darkchild production and songwriting team on the majority of the album's composition, while additional work from Mike City, Warryn Campbell, and Keith Crouch was contributed.

Brandy credited Whitney Houston, Kim Burrell and Enya for inspiring her to push the limits of her voice and vocal arrangements. With Brandy in a relationship with one of the album's primary musicians, its lyrical concepts centered on both sensual and frustrated feelings toward a lover. Jerkins credited Michael Jackson, Brandy's voice, and his experiences at European nightclubs for influencing the sound of the album. Lyrically, the album speaks on love in all its forms.[1] Musically, Full Moon drew inspiration from UK garage, electro, dance, glitch, and funktronica, while blending soul and R&B elements into adult contemporary ballads.
