Lady Gaga - The Fame (2008)

The Fame is the debut studio album by American singer Lady Gaga. It was released on August 19, 2008, by Interscope Records. After joining Kon Live Distribution and Cherrytree Records in 2008, Gaga began working on the album with different producers, primarily RedOne, Martin Kierszenbaum, and Rob Fusari. Musically, The Fame is an electropop, synth-pop, and dance-pop album that displays influences from 1980s music. Lyrically, it visualizes Gaga's love of fame in general, while also dealing with subjects such as love, sex, money, drugs, and sexual identity. The album was primarily promoted through The Fame Ball Tour and multiple television appearances, and was reissued as a deluxe edition with The Fame Monster on November 18, 2009.

The album received generally favorable reviews from critics, who commended its lyrical content and Gaga's musicianship and vocal ability. It was a commercial success, topping the charts in several countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Poland, and Switzerland. In the United States, it peaked at number two on the Billboard 200, and also topped the Dance/Electronic Albums chart for 110 non-consecutive weeks. The Fame became the fifth best-selling album of 2009, and has sold over 4.9 million copies in the United States as of January 2019. Combined with The Fame Monster, the album had sold over 15 million copies worldwide as of May 2019.

Gaga promoted the album with many television performances, award shows and also in her first headlining tour, The Fame Ball Tour in 2009. The first two singles "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" gained international success, topping the charts in several countries worldwide including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. The subsequent singles "LoveGame" and "Paparazzi" were commercial successes as well, charting within the top-ten of over ten countries worldwide. "Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)" had a limited single release, while "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich" served as a promotional single.

The Fame has won multiple awards since its release. In the United States, the album was nominated for a total of five Grammy Awards at the 52nd Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. It won the Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album and the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for the single "Poker Face", and also won Best International Album at the 2010 Brit Awards.[1] In 2013, Rolling Stone named The Fame as one of the "100 Greatest Debut Albums of All-Time"

Pussycat Dolls - Doll Domination (Deluxe) (2008)

Doll Domination is the second and final studio album by American girl group The Pussycat Dolls. It was released on September 19, 2008 by Interscope Records. Initially titled To Those Who Wait, the group later stated in an interview that the album had been renamed Doll Domination after many requests from fans. Doll Domination was the first album released following the departure of group member Carmit Bachar, and was the last album released with the remaining group members from the original lineup—Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton, Kimberly Wyatt and Nicole Scherzinger. Throughout 2009 the album was reissued in several different forms.

Six singles were released in support of Doll Domination. The album was preceded by the release of the lead single, "When I Grow Up" which reached the top ten in 16 countries. The third single, "I Hate This Part", reached number eleven on the Billboard Hot 100 and also charted within the top ten in most countries. "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" caused controversy as the single was credited as "Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger", which caused tension within the group and rumored that Scherzinger would be going solo. It peaked atop the charts in 17 countries and reached a milestone in United States for the largest single-week leap from number 100.

Pussycat Dolls - PCD (2005)

PCD is the debut studio album by American girl group The Pussycat Dolls, released on September 12, 2005, by A&M Records. In 1993, the Pussycat Dolls was created as burlesque troupe by choreographer Robin Antin. After attracting media attention, Antin struck a joint venture with Interscope Records to develop the Pussycat Dolls into a brand, with Jimmy Iovine assigning the project to Ron Fair. As one of the executive producers Fair produced the majority of the album and collaborated with producers like Kwamé, Polow da Don and Rich Harrison. The album is primarily a dance-pop record. Lyrically the album incorporates sexual innuendo and explores the themes of feminism and romance. It features guest vocals from rappers Busta Rhymes, Timbaland and will.i.am.

Seven singles were released from PCD. "Don't Cha" was released as the lead single from PCD in April 2005, and peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 and remains their most successful single to date becoming one of the best-selling singles of all time. Follow-up singles "Stickwitu", "Beep" and "Buttons" also performed well on charts internationally with all four of them reaching atop the New Zealand Singles Chart. Other singles include I Don't Need a Man and "Wait a Minute", which gained notable success in numerous countries.

Britney Spears - Glory (Deluxe Edition) (2016)

Glory is the ninth studio album from American recording artist Britney Spears. It was released on August 26, 2016, by RCA Records. After renewing her contract with RCA, Spears began work on the album in 2014. Lacking a deadline for completion, she continued work into 2015 and 2016, which, according to Spears, provided her with the opportunity to create one of her favourite albums in her catalogue.

Glory received positive reviews from music critics, who praised Spears's vocal performance on the album and called it her most involved and engaged record in over a decade. The album was also included on year-end lists of best albums by several publications. The album debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200, moving 111,000 units in its first week. The album topped the charts in Czech Republic, Taiwan, Ireland, South Korea, Italy and also peaked within the top ten of charts in another 20 countries.

"Make Me..." was released as the lead single for the record on July 15, 2016. The single debuted and peaked at number 17 on the US Billboard Hot 100. "Slumber Party" was released as the second and final single and peaked at number 86 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Glory was further promoted with three promotional singles — "Private Show", "Clumsy", and "Do You Wanna Come Over?" — which premiered weeks prior to the album's debut.[2] Spears promoted the album with television appearances and televised performances, including the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

In the Zone is the fourth studio album by American recording artist Britney Spears. It was released on November 12, 2003, by JIVE Records

Four singles were released from the album: "Me Against the Music", "Toxic" and "Everytime" met international chart success, all peaking at number one in Australia and Ireland and reaching top five positions elsewhere. To promote In the Zone, Spears performed the songs in a number of television appearances and also embarked on The Onyx Hotel Tour. The album and its music videos are largely seen by critics as the end of her transition from teen pop star to a more adult female artist. Westlife - Where We Are (2009)

Where We Are is the tenth studio album by Irish boy band Westlife. It was released on 27 November 2009 in Ireland and on 30 November 2009 in the UK through S Records, RCA Records and Sony Music, the band's tenth album under them. Where We Are is the group's first album following a break from music in 2008. It was also the band's fifth album to be released as a four-piece. This album was preceded by the lead single "What About Now" (a cover of the Daughtry song) and it was released on 23 October 2009[1] as a digital download a day later as a CD single.[2]

The group collaborated with numerous notable producers for the album, notably Ryan Tedder of the pop rock band OneRepublic, Jim Jonsin, Greg Wells and Sam Watters, among others. Where We Are is also notably the first Westlife album not to have Steve Mac and Wayne Hector produce or write any of the songs.

The album was met with mixed reviews, although it was still commercially successful, debuting at number two at the UK Albums Chart and got 2x Platinum Certification in the United Kingdom which sold more than 600 000 records. Despite the high peak, it was the first Westlife album not to peak at number one since their 2004 album Allow Us to Be Frank peaked at number three. This is the 7th top-selling album of 2009 in Ireland.
